Franklin Township and New Brunswick Profiles Franklin Township, is a community of over 50,000 people. Franklin Township is made up of many residential neighborhoods situated between many corporate headquarters and retail outlets. Franklin Township has experienced a large growth; partly as a result of its ideal location along route 287. With quick access to New York City, New Brunswick, the Jersey Shore and the New Jersey Turnpike, Franklin Township has overtaken Bridgewater as Somerset County's most populous community.
